Lishui Controller with Brand New Dual-Motor System
Nanjing Lishui Electronics Research Institute Co., Ltd ( Lishui Controller ) has recently successfully developed a brand new dual-motor controller, which is able to incorporate two motors in one controller and prevent sliding of high torque motor with the latest algorithm.
The newly developed controller can be used for two motors with power up to 500W each. Lishui Controller suggests using a pair of motors with the following setup:
Front Motor: 350W, Higher speed type, Lower torque
Rear Motor: 500W, Higher torque type, Lower Speed
Feature 1: Torque Increasement
One of the significant advantage of dual-motor system is high torque. The combination of two motors will generate torque more than single motor. According to Lishui Controller's test data, while working at the high efficiency range, the maximum torque is about 2 times of a single motor. And the highest torque range is about 1.5 times wider than any single motor.
Feature 2: Electronic Differential System
With Lishui Controller’s latest algorithm, Electronic Differential System (EDS), is not a challenge any more in dual-motor system. Controller has two independent but connected CPUs.
The main goal of EDS is to prevent motor from uncontrolled sliding. In Lishui Controller’s EDS algorithm, passive and active algorithm guarantees that while two motors are running at same time, two CPUs communicate with each other, exchange the speed and torque information. EDS algorithm ensures two motors are running at exact the needed power and keep RPMs of two motors the same.
Feature 3: Wide High Efficiency Range
With dynamic torque distribution algorithm, it is very exciting that it can achieve the core goal: High efficiency. The picture explains why it has a much wider high efficiency range than a single motor.
Feature 4: Full-function communication protocol supports multiple modes selection and multiple batteries compatibility
Lishui Controller has developed a full function communication protocol, which covers new EN 15194 standard requirements and dual-motor system features. The protocol includes UART version and CAN BUS version.
With this protocol, motor working modes are selectable: single motor mode (front or rear), dual-motor mode and customized power distribution mode. In customized mode, users can set their own power distribution for each motor to suit all terrain ridings.
Multiple batteries usage is also supported in the protocol. With battery balancer installed, user can select to use one battery first and then the second battery; or two batteries together with a synchronous time of capacity run out.
The picture shows the display interfaces that show how dual-motor and dual-battery are working together during riding.
